There are some things that we will never get enough of…or we just don’t enough of. One of those things is paradise. Humans were meant to live in paradise after all right? America’s Paradise is sometimes referring to the U.S. Virgin Islands. You will have to go there to understand why. The U.S. Virgin Islands include St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, and Water Island. The beauty and culture of these three islands is truly unique. You will find yourself in paradise as you lie on the white sand beaches while listening to the crystal clear blue waves rushing to shore. Behind you the green hills and lush rain forest are waiting to be explored. Life just slows down as a general warm feeling of comfort and relaxation overcome your whole body. Treat yourself to a holiday on the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The largest of the islands is St. Croix. It has a fascinating European history, which is reflected beautifully in the architecture, ruins and museums in the Historic District. The beautiful landscape consists of lush tropical rain forest and desert vegetation! The beaches, like the other islands, are stunning. There is plenty to explore on this rather big island. St. Thomas is only 31 square miles, but is home to the capital of U.S. Virgin Islands. It is the most developed and cosmopolitan of all four islands. Rent a car and navigate yourself around the island, but be ready because they drive on the opposite of the road. Take your children to the water park. Relax in the restaurants and shop in the souvenir shops. There are plenty of activities for the whole family.
Next, most of St. John’s is protected as a National Park. If you want to sit back and relax, St. John’s should be your destination. Since the National Park makes up two thirds of the island, it is the most laid back of all. Nature hikes and historic walks can be arranged from the Visitor’s Center. Only two major resorts are on the island, leaving the beaches completely unspoiled and natural for you to enjoy. Lastly there is Water Island. It is the baby of the U.S. Virgin Islands, only joining the group recently; it is the smallest island and only has a population of less than 500. There are no resorts or hotels on this island, so accommodations will be in villas or cottages. To get away from modern civilization Water Island is the best destination.
Going to the U.S. Virgin Islands will be an exciting beach and Caribbean vacation. Laying on the beach, staying in quaint bed and breakfasts, enjoying your meals with the clear blue waves rushing to shore in the background, exploring the wildlife under the sea with your snorkel, or diving deep and meeting the world around the coral reefs. The U.S. Virgin Islands can be your vacation in paradise. The natural beauty of the islands, the smiling faces of the locals and the interesting island culture will satisfy a longing for paradise.
