We are in the process of updating our guide and including many things that our guests this year have suggested. Local hiking trails; lists of nearby public beaches and parks, and restaurant reviews will be added. We have a hot tub and had several incidents this year where parents were allowing children to use it as a play pool, resulting in calls about water quality. We now have a separate section in our book on using the tub and educating people who have never used one before, about the chemical balance. It is done in a lighthearted way, and we are hoping it will save us some maintenance costs! The welcome book is a great way of describing the property but also to create a relationship with the guests and help them realise it is a privately owned and much loved property, rather than a sterile hotel room.
