Vermont is not only ideal for skiing, but for non-skiers it is an ideal vacation spot. It is famous for its quaint country inns, covered bridges and recreational activities such as hiking, biking and skiing. In the fall the leaves change colors to vibrant red and oranges that line the streets and mountains in beauty. Nothing can compare to the crisp fresh air and spectacular fall colors of Vermont.

One of the most beautiful places to visit is Lake Champlain. The Lake Champlain area takes in Burlington, South Burlington and other towns near the shore. It is the sixth largest lake in the world and the natural beauty is absolutely stunning. Lakeside Burlington is Vermont’s largest city. Only having a population of forty thousand, it is an enjoyable and relaxing place to visit. The University of Vermont has made Burlington into a hip and youthful university town. You will never get sick of enjoying the trendy cafe culture in Burlington.

The beautiful views of Lake Champlain and the Green and Adirondack Mountains make Burlington a favorite place to visit. The cozy inns, bed and breakfasts, or hotels make this place all the more attractive. For a truly relaxing and refreshing experience, Vermont is an excellent choice. Though there are not a lot of museums and sights to see, it is the atmosphere of Vermont that makes it so popular. The atmosphere is often created by the festivals and special events held throughout the year.

In the summer the jazz and music festival in Burlington makes the city come alive. The Discover Jazz Festival is held annually as it kicks the summer off with a variety of dances, jams, concerts and street parties. Celebrating is what locals in Burlington do best. When winter comes along, there is a festival to celebrate that as well! For the past 15 years the Burlington Winter Festival has been held to celebrate a number of events and activities. These include snow sculpting competitions and ice walks.

Another beautiful event is the Vermont Flower Show. Held every year for the past ten years it has a number of different educational seminars about horticulture, flower displays, professional floral competitions, activities for adults and children, workshops, exhibits and much more! The list of festivals and events held annually in Burlington are plentiful! It is a fun and youthful place to take a holiday. The air is fresh and the atmosphere is fresh, appealing to many as a great vacationing spot.

The numerous boat cruises and tours offer scenic ways to see Lake Champlain. Burlington is a place to regain your youthful vigor. It may be because of the great air quality, or it may be because of relaxed way of life or it may just be the influence of the university students in the town. Whatever the reason, Vermont is a special place to relax, refresh and reinvigorate.
